Cindy's Comments:

I used about 76 size1 Target brand diapers, 3 teething rings, 2 soothers pacifiers, 4 wash clothes with diaper pens monogrammed on them, travel size baby lotion, shampoo, powder, and baby wash, a bottle brush, a large bottle of Johnson's baby lotion, 1-8oz. bottle, roll of 1 1/2" wide ribbon, roll of 1/4"-1/2" ribbon, a round cake board, glue tabs (or double sided tape), rubber bands (to wrap diapers and hold rolls of diapers together), you can add baby socks or stuffed animals, or any baby items you wish to add. 1st I started by rolling about 76 size 1 diapers tightly and securing each one with a small rubber band. After that is done, I get the double sided tape, and secure the large bottle of baby lotion to the middle of the cake board. You can glue or use the double sided tape to add a ribbon to the outside edge of the cake board for extra decoration, as I did. Then you start with a roll of diapers around the baby lotion, hold them securely with a large rubber band, when you are finished with that layer, start another layer outside of that one, secure each layer with a large rubber band, I made 3 layers for the bottle layer of the diaper cake. To make the middle layer, do the same as you done for the bottom layer of the cake, making sure to secure each roll with a rubber band. Make 3 layer for the middle layer of the cake. Then secure the 8 oz. bottle to the top of the baby lotion bottle with the double sided tape, start the top layer of diapers around the baby bottle, it should only take 1 row of diapers for the top layer, secure it with a rubber band. You are now ready to start decorating. First you want to cover the rubber bands with the thick ribbon you are going to decorate the cake with, secure the back of the ribbon, every few inches, with a piece of the double sided tape, do each layer like this so that the rubber bands are not showing. You can then add the other decoration by sticking them in between the diaper layers or securing them with tape or ribbon. You can put the entire cake in a plastic basket bag and tie closed with a bow...and you've made a diaper cake. It's really simple, and you will love the finished product. Have Fun!!!!
