Clothespin Take

Each lady receives a clip clothespin (pick colored one if you prefer) and they clip it to their shirt somewhere (visible) and anyone that crosses their legs (tough for women) someone may grab their clothes pin and that person attaches that pin(s) to their clothing and the person at the end of the shower with the most clothespins wins a door prize.

The game is perfect for a baby shower because it generates a lot of fun and interaction among the guests. I have read more of such ideas in which has good information about the necessity of a baby shower. By playing such games the fundamental idea of having a great atmosphere is achieved and the mother would be quite happy ensuring the baby in the stomach is also happy.

I played and won this game at a shower recently but wish I hadn't. It is meant to be an icebreaker and a bit of fun but does not work if someone gets offended if you catch them with crossed legs. A couple of mid-twenties aged girls, in a group I had not met before, exchanged withering looks as the one with her legs crossed refused me the peg. This exchange of pained facial expressions was captured in a photo and posted on Facebook and commented upon by these two, making me feel bad all over again. I will certainly make sure I don't come anywhere close to winning if ever I'm asked to play this horrible game again. It might work if you have pleasant guests but otherwise give it a miss.

This is a fun game to play throughout the duration of a Baby Shower. There are different ways to play. Everyone gets a clothespin at the start of the shower. Anyone who hears someone say "BABY" or catches someone crossing their legs or feet, gets to take that person's pin. The person with the most pins at the end wins a prize.

I have played this at nearly every shower I have been to but we play it a little differently. We pass out the clothespins and then no one can say BABY (hard at a baby shower) or the person that hears you say it can take your clothespin whoever has the most at the end wins!
